Below is a link to a free PDF for my first book, a collection of short stories called A Safe Girl to Love. Please take it and use it how you like!
Frequently Asked Questions (or, at least, what I anticipate might perhaps be Frequently Asked Questions):
Q: Why are you doing this?
A: This book is published by Topside Press, whose books can at times be difficult to order. It’s my wish to make this one available to anybody who wants to read it.
Q: I would love to take you up on this, but I really prefer a physical copy. How do I get it?
A: If you have the money, you can order the book new through almost any brick-and-mortar bookstore (have the ISBN ready on this one, they’ll appreciate it! It’s 9781627290050). Independent bookstores are important and I highly encourage you do this! I get that’s not a feasible option for everyone though, so obviously you can order through Amazon, link is here. They can also be purchased used through AbeBooks: Find listings here.
Q: That’s the rub, girl, I don’t have the money.
A: Try your local library! Even if they don’t have the book, the vast majority of libraries are happy to order in books upon request (and this goes for plenty of books besides just mine obvs!)
Q: Wait wait wait hold the phone—isn’t this copyright infringement? What does your publisher say about this?
A: All books by Topside Press were published under a Creative Commons license that does not make this copyright infringement. Technically I do not need my publisher’s permission to share this book free of charge. However, Topside Press has also always been pro-piracy, so it’s all gravy in multiple ways.
Q: I’d like to give you something for this book anyway?
A: That’s very kind of you. I’m doing pretty okay money-wise these days, so I’d like to ask in this case you please consider giving to Trans Lifeline which is a crisis hotline for trans people and run by trans people. Suicide affects our community in unspeakable ways. If you have $ you were considering giving to me, please consider giving it to them.
